Manager, External Supply

Role: External Supply Manager responsible for managing supplier relationships to support AbbVie's manufacturing network. Key responsibilities include partnering with cross-functional teams (Procurement, Quality, Planning, Operations) to monitor supplier performance, lead assurance of supply activities, coordinate operational issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. The role involves supplier onboarding, performance metrics management, supply risk mitigation, and supporting quality and compliance standards. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in supply chain, engineering, business, or related field; 7+ years in supply chain, procurement, or supplier management; strong communication, project management, and analytical skills; ability to travel domestically and internationally. Preferred qualifications include experience managing external raw material suppliers in regulated environments, familiarity with cGMP, ERP (SAP), and supplier quality systems. The role interfaces with manufacturing site leads, category managers, quality and science teams, and supply chain stakeholders, supporting operational excellence in a highly regulated biopharma setting. Work setup involves domestic and international travel as needed.
