Manager, Distribution Center

Role: Distribution Center Manager overseeing operations for laboratory animal shipments, Teklad diets, and related products. Objectives include ensuring operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, inventory accuracy, and high service levels. Responsibilities: lead daily warehousing, shipping, receiving, and transportation; supervise and develop staff; coordinate coast-to-coast inventory transfers; maintain compliance with animal welfare, DOT, and SOP standards; manage facility, fleet, and equipment maintenance; monitor performance metrics, support budgeting, and respond to emergencies. Requirements: high school diploma; minimum 3 years leadership experience in logistics, warehouse, or supply chain; proven staff management skills; experience with inventory, transportation coordination, and ERP systems (JDE, SAP). Valid CDL Class B license required; ability to manage multiple priorities. Preferred: associate's/bachelor's in logistics, supply chain, or related field; experience with complex distribution centers, laboratory animal transportation, or warehouse management systems; knowledge of DOT regulations, continuous improvement, and lean practices; forklift certification.
