Role Summary

Manager – Data Engineering at Johnson & Johnson’s MedTech Data & AI organization. This role, located in Raritan, New Jersey, may require up to 10% travel. Lead data curation efforts around the foundational data platforms to enable the future of data consumption via analytics and artificial intelligence, and influence the MedTech data strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for the vision and prioritization of new features and/or enhancements to the CDL MT curation product and translate business needs into prioritized user stories, accountable for value delivery and value realization at the squad level
  • Shape and prioritize backlog, translate requirements into user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Balance business value with technical feasibility while prioritizing stories and features, optimizing cost and improving delivery efficiency
  • Act as the ‚Äúvoice of the customer‚Äù within the squad to ensure the squad ‚Äúbuilds the right thing‚Äù
  • Accountable for shaping and hitting squad objectives and key results
  • Manage full-time resources, contractors and vendors
  • Drive continuous improvement across the product lifecycle
  • Facilitate release planning, sprint planning and demos with partners
  • Own and facilitate documentation and information
  • Collaborate to ensure all partners are clear on product roadmap activities, design, interdependencies and timelines

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor‚Äôs degree in a technical field or equivalent experience
  • Required: Proven product team leadership experience in Information Technology
  • Required: Experience in or knowledge of Data Engineering/ETL practices and related languages/technologies
  • Required: Strong problem-solving skills with ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment
  • Required: Knowledge of public cloud platforms: Azure, AWS, and/or GCP
  • Required: Experience managing resources
  • Required: Ability to collect, understand and convey customer requirements
  • Required: Design robust batch, incremental, and change data capture pipelines
  • Required: Build, optimize, and troubleshoot data pipelines
  • Required: Build consensus across silos, drive co-owned roadmaps and OKRs
  • Required: Model domain-driven data products with clean, business-aligned schema
  • Required: Translate user needs into actionable backlog, prioritize by business value
  • Preferred: Experience working with Azure Databricks
  • Preferred: Knowledge of CI/CD software development practices
  • Other: Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Other: Up to 10% domestic and international travel
