In This Role, You Will
- Lead and develop a team of data scientists and computational biologists; mentor, drive rigor, and support continuous growth.
- Design and execute analyses for target nomination and validation to identify cancer vulnerabilities.
- Develop biomarker strategies and patient-stratification hypotheses from nomination through hit-to-lead and lead-optimization.
- Act as a βconnectorβ by piloting innovative analysis methods and collaborating with platform/engineering teams to productionalize and scale tools.
- Maintain ~50% hands-on individual contribution with complex data integration and analysis.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with biologists, medicinal chemists, and clinical leads to deliver data packages for program milestones and investment decisions.
- Present analyses to external decision makers and stakeholders.
The Experience Youβll Need
- PhD (quantitative field) with 5+ years biotech/pharma OR MS with 7+ years in biotech/pharma solving oncology/drug discovery problems.
- People management experience managing/developing direct reports.
- Oncology domain expertise: biomarker discovery and patient population stratification; experience across two or more oncology areas; understanding of patient genetics and pathway druggability.
- Deep expertise integrating 2+ omics modalities (phenomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, genomics), including patient data.
- Exceptional data visualization skills.
- Advanced Python or R for high-dimensional biological data.
- Strong cross-functional communication to translate complex concepts into clear narratives.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with TCGA, CCLE, DepMap, and/or RWD.
- Experience with high-throughput screens or CRISPR/small-molecule perturbations.
- Exposure to IND-enabling study requirements or clinical trial biomarker analysis.
