Role Overview
- Serve as a strategic thought partner generating actionable competitive intelligence (CI) to inform decision-making across R&D, commercial, and corporate strategy.
- Lead proactive and on-demand CI initiatives, including competitor monitoring, landscape assessments, early signal detection, conference surveillance, and strategic analysis supporting pipeline development, lifecycle management, and long-term planning.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Intelligence & Insight Generation
- Lead CI activities across assigned therapeutic areas/platforms/programs; deliver actionable insights to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Conduct landscape assessments across scientific, clinical, regulatory, and commercial dimensions.
- Monitor competitorsโ pipelines, clinical data, regulatory actions, collaborations, and market events to identify threats, opportunities, and early signals.
- Track new entrants/startups and emerging innovation, investments, and disruptive players.
- Synthesize complex data into clear narrative insights and strategic recommendations.
Conference Coverage & Surveillance
- Lead end-to-end conference CI planning/execution (surveillance plans, abstract triage, onsite/virtual monitoring, rapid readouts, post-conference summaries).
- Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders to ensure aligned priorities and actionable outputs.
Data & Analysis Leadership
- Build and maintain CI frameworks, dashboards, market landscapes, and tracking systems.
- Manage internal CI dashboards and (when applicable) external CI vendors.
- Develop and implement CI best practices, tools, and standardized processes.
Cross-Functional Partnership
- Serve as CI lead for R&D, commercial, BD, and strategy; participate in strategic discussions.
- Partner with forecasting, medical affairs, and commercial strategy to interpret external environment dynamics.
Requirements
- Masterโs in life sciences, business, or related field.
- 3+ years in pharmaceutical/biotech competitive intelligence, strategy, consulting, or market research.
- Strong scientific/clinical acumen; hematology/oncology and autoimmune experience preferred.
- Track record delivering strategic insights and influencing decisions.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking; excellent written/verbal communication.
- Proficient in CI methodologies, secondary research, data interpretation, and triangulation.
- Experience working in fast-paced, cross-functional environments with tight timelines.
- High integrity; ability to manage sensitive/confidential information.
- Familiarity with CI tools/databases (e.g., Evaluate, Cortellis, Datamonitor, Alphasense, clinical databases).
