Purpose
- Support AbbVie’s Commercial business and serve as a procurement partner to Media center of excellence teams.
- Contribute to, lead, and implement category procurement strategies for category spend across media agencies and paid media channels for consumer and professional audiences.
- Partner with the Global Category Lead and functional stakeholders to drive improved financial, operational, and marketing performance.
- Hybrid in North Chicago (3 days onsite / 2 days remote)

Responsibilities
- Lead category strategy implementation with Global Category Lead support through strategic digital media partnerships and channels.
- Build stakeholder relationships with Media Managers to Media Directors across Consumer Healthcare, Professional Healthcare, and Aesthetics Media.
- Execute strategic, fact-based negotiation and supplier relationship management (SRM).
- Deliver annual savings targets and participate in short- and long-term value planning.
- Share supplier capabilities/performance, industry trends, and market dynamics to influence decision-making.
- Lead sourcing events (RFP/RFI/RFQ/Pricing Auctions) with sourcing experts to identify suppliers and execute category strategy.
- Negotiate contracts with cross-functional teams and ensure timely execution.
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities across functional and supplier processes.
- Collaborate and mentor Procurement Specialists and other Category Managers.
- Drive innovation and support organizational design transformations.
- Navigate an agile environment with changing business needs and multiple stakeholder groups.
- Operate with high ethical standards and comply with law and company policies.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Advertising, Supply Chain, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 7+ years’ experience in procurement, supply chain, or related operations/business function.
- 3+ years’ media experience required (planning and activating campaigns across digital channels).
- Media agency experience highly preferred.
- Expertise managing large supplier relationships and conducting quarterly business reviews.
- Deep knowledge of the Digital Media landscape and measurement, including cost structures and Joint Business Proposals (JBPs).
- Ability to communicate with mid-to-senior management and influence without authority; build consensus.
- Strong account management and/or client service proficiency.
- Strong project management skills to prioritize and deliver multiple initiatives.
- Ability to synthesize data and turn insights into clear narratives.
- Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence for relationship-building in a matrixed organization.
- Autonomous work ethic.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Power Platform).
