Role Summary

Support the global Supply Chain Operations (SCO) network for Cell & Gene Therapies by overseeing the tactical buying and planning of global raw materials and order management to ensure delivery performance level. Responsible for evaluating and managing all supply chain operations KPIs. Also responsible for supply chain master data management and labeling logistics operations.

Responsibilities

  • Build a strong team and provide the leadership and motivation necessary to retain, develop and attract high talent employees.
  • Establish and oversee an optimal direct materials supply plan, to ensure customer service level, production capabilities, inventory level and operational cost according to budget.
  • Responsible for ensuring the availability of all necessary raw materials to support production activities. Maintain key supplier performance measurements, including extensive understanding of complex contract terms and measuring whether supplier performance is meeting those terms
  • Responsible for timely direct and indirect material order fulfillment including organization and management of physical shipment of goods.
  • Establish and maintain proper supply targets for clinical supplied raw materials
  • Maintain supply chain KPIs and supplier performance management
  • MRP Optimization and maintenance of planning & master data parameters (i.e. MOQ, Lead Times, order frequency) for planning accuracy, in close collaboration with local master data mgt.
  • Ensures visibility and prioritization of purchase orders along with ensuring reliable and continuous supply at target inventory levels
  • Collaboration with internal functions (Procurement, QA, MS&T and TRD) for planning supply, validation, and development activities.
  • Supports planning and executing team members’ development plan and coaching/mentoring
  • Review performance with suppliers, including the proactive identification and implementation of improvements to enhance production schedule and customer service while improving cycle times
  • Utilize SAP, BI and other reporting software to inform upper management of current and projected disruptions in supply or materials coming from external supply sites
  • Ensure compliance with Novartis policies and procedures, strategy and standards
  • NFCM requirements, GMP requirements, transportation compliance, customs/ VAT, controlled substance requirements and defined business continuity plans for supply operations network

Qualifications

  • Education: B.S in science, Engineering, Business, Finance or Supply Chain Management
  • The following certifications are desired: APICS CSCP, CPIM
  • Minimum of 3+ years’ experience in Supply Chain Operations both buying, planning, customer service or pharmaceutical operations environment.
  • Supply Chain Principles – extensive knowledge and understanding of Materials Management principles such as (but not limited to) SAP, Materials Requirements Planning (MRP), purchasing, distribution, import/export, transportation and inventory working capital management.
  • Pharmaceutical GMP’s – strong knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Demonstrated ability to operate in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
  • Strong proficiency in MS-Excel
