Role Summary
Manager, Applications Science. Lead a team to drive application development with hands-on lab work (25-50% time) and provide technical and customer-facing support for Western and Cellular Analytics and Biologics Business Units.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, train, and mentor a team of scientists in generating high-impact scientific content
- Lead cross-functional and cross-business projects to further Western and Cellular Analytics application development
- Execute complex experiments (25-50% of time) to support existing products and/or develop new applications
- Act as the technical point of contact and subject matter expert for Western and Cellular Analytics-focused projects
- Investigate, identify, and champion new research areas for Western and Cellular Analytics application development
- Follow guidelines and comply with all company safety, quality, and training procedures and regulations
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in a related field and minimum of 5+ years of post-degree relevant experience, or
- MS in biochemistry, analytical chemistry, biotechnology, or a related field and 8+ years of post-degree relevant experience
- Minimum of 2+ years of people leadership or project management experience
- Demonstrated expertise in immunoassay development
- Hands-on experience using ProteinSimple Simple Western instrumentation is highly desirable
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
- Extensive knowledge in the development of immunoassays (e.g., ELISA, western blot, MSD)
- Ability to analyze complex data and results to draw conclusions
- Experience in training, coaching, and mentoring lab members; leading cross-functional teams is a plus
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including writing clear and concise technical content
- Ability to work independently on complex projects and set priorities
- Highly motivated with the ability to balance several projects concurrently
- Strong documentation and organizational skills
- Proficient in MS Office; GraphPad Prism and/or JMP experience is a plus
