Role Summary
Maintenance Technician - Nights: Maintains operating equipment requiring a proficient level of technical knowledge, diagnoses and resolves equipment-related issues, and contributes to improving the efficiency of the production line. Supports Formulation Filling, Packaging, or Facilities Departments with technical/operational support, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance for equipment used in production processes across classified areas up to Grade A aseptic environments. Adheres to established equipment procedures, SOPs, and cGMPs. Capable of mechanical and electronic troubleshooting to ensure efficient operation via OEE.
Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, test, troubleshoot, adjust, repair, and perform line turnarounds; conduct general and preventative maintenance on production and utility equipment.
- Follow established procedures to ensure timely and efficient operations; complete documentation in the work order system and close out activities in compliance with cGMPs.
- Maintain batch records and GMP documentation as needed; keep records and logs to support responsibilities.
- Work under the direction of the Maintenance Facilitator; use testing tools and measuring equipment to maintain and troubleshoot electronic, environmental monitoring, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical line equipment.
- Set up equipment and perform adjustments to ensure optimal performance per process specifications.
- Provide training to technicians on equipment setup and minor adjustments or repairs.
- Interface with operations staff and outside vendors; develop and oversee equipment service contracts.
Qualifications
- Required: High school graduate, vocational school graduate, or equivalent (GED)
- Required: 5+ years of mechanical, troubleshooting, and repair experience in a production/manufacturing environment
- Required: Computer skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Overtime required with prior notice; emergency overtime may be needed with little notice to ensure operation within the Process Execution Team (PET)
Desirable Skills/Experience
- Pharmaceutical experience
- Technical school or trade certification
- Apprenticeship in formal mechanical trades
- Engineering/automation background
- Systech/SAP experience
