Role Summary

Maintenance Technician IV supporting design, development, maintenance, and reliability of manufacturing processes and equipment to ensure medicines are produced efficiently. Collaborate with the engineering team to envision new possibilities, troubleshoot issues, and maintain compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Take responsibility for individual contributions to team deliverables and foster a positive team environment.
  • Manage personal time, professional development, and assist less-experienced colleagues in prioritizing tasks.
  • Complete assignments per established procedures, identify process improvements, troubleshoot issues, and train team members.
  • Share knowledge across work groups and proactively resolve non-routine problems by making informed decisions.
  • Work under general supervision, handle recurring assignments, and refer unusual problems to the supervisor.
  • Ensure non-standard work is reviewed for sound technical judgment and uphold Pfizer standards, training others as needed.
  • Adhere to safety procedures, JSA, and safe work permits; comply with plant safety programs.
  • Coordinate maintenance and project activities with production to minimize downtime; follow general shop safety practices.
  • Ensure utility activities comply with SOPs, cGMP, and regulatory practices; read and follow equipment schematics and engineering drawings.
  • Perform calibration of production and facility equipment, use electrical testing equipment safely, analyze and resolve equipment problems, instruct other technicians, and design/install electrical sensors or control systems.

Qualifications

  • Required: High School Diploma or GED with 4+ years of experience
  • Required: Certification in the assigned area if applicable
  • Required: Coursework or equivalent experience in electromechanical technology
  • Required: Solid understanding of basic mathematics and general trades (construction, electrical, machine shop)
  • Required: Ability to perform maintenance tasks across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated systems
  • Required: Proficiency in computer skills
  • Required: Good written and verbal English communication skills
  • Preferred: Bachelor's Degree
  • Preferred: Pharmaceutical and/or bio-pharmaceutical experience
  • Preferred: Knowledge of cGMP operations
  • Preferred: Strong problem-solving, collaboration, organizational skills, attention to detail
  • Preferred: Familiarity with AI tools and curiosity for applying them to productivity

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED (minimum)
  • Coursework or certification in electromechanical technology
  • Preferably Bachelor's Degree

  • Non-standard Work Schedule / Travel: 12-hour shifts with rotating days; on-premise work location
