Introduction To Role

Join AstraZeneca's Durham, NC site as a Maintenance Technician Apprentice and embark on a ground-breaking journey in pharmaceutical manufacturing. This outstanding 2-year apprenticeship program, registered with the Department of Labor, offers a blend of paid, hands-on experience and classroom instruction (onsite/offsite). As an apprentice, you'll be part of a team committed to advancing global healthcare while working towards a nationally accredited vocational qualification. Gain invaluable practical experience supported by expert mentors and managers, and contribute to the future of medicine!

Accountabilities

As a member of the Operations and Facilities team, you'll play a vital role in maintaining our GMP manufacturing suites and technical infrastructure. Operates a single shift (Monday through Friday), with weekend overtime as needed, depending on production requirements. A typical semester-based schedule may include a minimum of 24 hours of onsite work/training and 16 hours of coursework per week. (Subject to academic calendar and the needs of the business).

Your Responsibilities May Also Include

  • Supporting installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment that may be scheduled and/or as needed
  • Performing cleaning and lean manufacturing activities in line with cGMP
  • Documenting work orders in our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)

  • Currently enrolled and remain on course for an Associate degree in Industrial Systems Technology or equivalent
