      Role Summary
 Maintenance Technician II provides high level maintenance support for Galaxy filling process equipment at the Round Lake, IL manufacturing site; maintains equipment across the Mix, Fill and Finishing complexes; ensures lines are ready to run during planned production; performs on-time PMs; troubleshoots mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems; may require overtime, weekends and plant shutdowns; follows corporate specifications and plant SOPs; adheres to safety rules and supports continuous improvement.
 
 Responsibilities
 
 - Accomplishes objectives with autonomy
 
 - Learns and understands corporate specifications and plant SOPs governing the Galaxy process and local GMP
 
 - Monitors manufacturing lines and communicates with manufacturing to reduce downtime
 
 - Troubleshoots and repairs mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
 
 - Reviews PMs, ensures parts are in stock, and completes PMs on time
 
 - Builds and rebuilds machine assemblies
 
 - Communicates equipment issues and work status per Stop and Fix guidelines
 
 - Initiates work orders using the JD Edwards (JDE) CMMS
 
 - Performs PM work and maintains documentation to support equipment reliability and efficiency
 
 - Records problems, breakdowns, or alarms in JDE or downtime tracking and initiates work orders; reviews equipment trends to prevent recurrence
 
 - Shares knowledge and trains less experienced technicians in the Galaxy process and related safety and PMs
 
 - Learns to handle robots in production modes; troubleshoots robot-related issues
 
 - Advances knowledge through training; seeks engineering assistance when needed
 
 - Models safe work practices and reports unsafe conditions
 
 - Maintains 100% on-time completion of required training
 
 - Works independently and with cross-functional teams to resolve issues
 
 
 
 Qualifications
 
 - Prior experience in an FDA-regulated environment preferred
 
 - Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
 
 - Ability to read and understand electrical, mechanical and pneumatic drawings
 
 - Experience with electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
 
 - Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
 
 - Willingness to learn PLC concepts
 
 - Strong teamwork and communication skills; good documentation practices
 
 - Proficiency with MS Word, MS Excel and JDE or similar CMMS
 
 - Must not be allergic to Cephalosporin or related products
 
 - Willingness to travel up to 5% of the time

 Additional Requirements
 
 - Must be able to lift up to 100 lbs and stand/walk for extended periods
 
 - Work in a cold, wet environment; exposure to chemicals and loud noises; wear protective gear
 
 - Work around moving equipment; gowning requirements may apply in certain areas
 
 - May require work in confined spaces or clean room environments
 
 - May require immunizations or other site-specific requirements
 
 - Must be able to work multiple shifts, including weekends and holidays
 
 - Must be able to work overtime as required
