Description Overview:
- Provide leadership for operational discipline to technicians, contractor personnel, and maintenance staff during daily activities.
- Coordinate response to calls for emergency support.
- Support safety, quality, productivity, and cost initiatives.
- Provide safe, timely, professional customer service to production operations.
- Execute preventive maintenance per schedule and support compliance with regulatory guidelines.
Scope of the Role:
- Direct technicians/support staff; interface with other department leaders to remove roadblocks and meet production schedules.
- Support quality initiatives, change control, validation, cGMP training, and engineering standards/good engineering practices.
- Maintain spare parts inventory; support qualification of critical parts.
- Maintain a safe work environment to minimize staff accident rate.
- Build employee engagement and continuous improvement culture.
- Develop budget proposals; control charges vs. approved budget; monitor/report expenditures.
- Supervise maintenance associates (hiring, training, performance management, mentoring, development).
- Use continuous improvement techniques (Kaizen, Lean, Six Sigma, 5S).
- Lead root-cause problem finding and equipment troubleshooting.
Experience Required:
- Excellent interpersonal and written/oral communication.
- CMMS experience.
- Ability to resolve conflicts and maintain confidentiality.
- Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years supervising industrial maintenance operations.
- Pharmaceutical industry experience (preferred).
- Knowledge of compressed air, dust collection/vacuum, pharmaceutical HVAC, water systems, and other facility infrastructure.
- Experience with cost control, safety, and GMP quality systems.
- Program/project management, leadership, team building, mentoring.
- Ability to identify/implement process improvements with minimal supervision.
- PLC controls, technical drawings, and Microsoft Office (working knowledge).
