Maintenance Specialist

Role: Senior Maintenance Technician (HVAC) responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing HVAC and utility systems supporting GMP manufacturing at Gilead's La Verne site. Responsibilities: perform preventive and corrective maintenance on air handling units, chillers, exhaust systems, pumps, and related mechanical equipment; support building automation systems; diagnose system failures using technical schematics and documentation; assist with HVAC system commissioning, qualification, and deviation investigations; document activities via CMMS; respond to emergencies and participate in shutdown activities. Requirements: High School diploma; minimum 5 years’ experience with commercial/industrial HVAC systems, preferably in regulated environments like biotech or pharma; EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification; proficiency with CMMS like Maximo; strong troubleshooting and communication skills. Preferred: technical certifications or associate degrees in HVAC or mechanical maintenance; experience with GMP cleanroom HVAC, BAS/BMS systems (e.g., Siemens, Honeywell); knowledge of cGMP requirements, environmental controls, and sterile manufacturing support systems. High-Value: GMP manufacturing environment, regulated biotech/pharma setting, HVAC systems supporting critical processes, experience with cleanroom environmental controls, and regulatory compliance. Work Setup: on-site with potential for multi-shift work and emergency response.
