Role Summary
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing a variety of maintenance tasks to ensure equipment and facilities are operating efficiently and safely, including troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining mechanical systems, machinery, and infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on equipment and systems.
- Diagnose mechanical issues and implement effective solutions.
- Repair and replace defective parts using hand tools and power tools.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Collaborate with other departments to support operational needs.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests promptly.
- Operate and maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
Qualifications
- Required: High school diploma or GED.
- Preferred: Technical certification.
- Required: Minimum 5-10 years of experience in mechanical maintenance or a related field.
- Required: Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, tools, and safety practices.
- Required: Basic electrical troubleshooting skills.
- Preferred: Low pressure boiler license.
- Required: Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
- Required: Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Required: Must be able to work independently and collaborate effectively with a team.
- Required: Flexibility to cover second shift and weekends when needed.
- Required: Physical ability to lift heavy objects and work in various environments.
Skills
- Preferred: Experience with HVAC, plumbing, or electrical systems.
- Preferred: Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
- Preferred: Welding or fabrication experience.
