Machine Repair Technician (2nd Shift)

Role Description:
- This is a 2nd shift position.
- In a Reliability Based Maintenance environment, the Machine Repair Technician maintains formulation, filling, packaging, utility, and facility equipment and systems.
Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, improvements, and modifications to production, utility, and facility equipment (fillers, pick & place robots, cartoners, case packers, pumps, air compressors, boilers, and other mechanical equipment).
- Train others on mechanical maintenance in compliance with company standards and regulations (SOPs, GMPs, GLPs, PSM, etc.).
- Advise on equipment design, parts/material selection, documentation, testing, problem solving, maintenance requirements, project scope, and follow-up.
- Assess priorities and make decisions for troubleshooting/diagnostics; work with operations to determine root cause and corrective actions.
- Conduct assembly, repair, and proactive maintenance cost-effectively; review equipment operation to identify deficiencies and improve OEE.
- Read and understand drawings/blueprints for installation/repair of new and existing equipment.
- Use precision measuring devices and machinist shop tools.
Education and Experience / Qualifications:
- Journeyman Certificate with 3β5 years in manufacturing, or Technical/Vocational diploma with 5β8 years related machine repair/machinist experience.
- Valid driverβs license; must pass test to obtain forklift license.
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry; GMP understanding (processes, equipment, facilities).
- Ability to communicate, organize, and produce project reports/presentations.
- Daily/frequent interaction with engineering, maintenance, production, quality, technicians, contractors, and vendors.
- Ability to analyze problems and recommend corrective/preventive actions with minimal assistance; manage multiple assignments and adapt to change.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequently exposed to airborne particles; work near moving mechanical parts and high surface temperatures, chemicals, and non-temperature-controlled environments; loud noise; PPE required.
