Job Summary
- Provide expert legal advice and counseling to business partners on strategic and tactical projects in a highly regulated environment, reporting to the Assistant General Counsel.
- Support departments including Market Access (Payer Strategy, Trade & Distribution and Government Pricing), Government Affairs & Public Policy, and pipeline.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise on commercial initiatives while addressing legal risks and protecting company integrity and reputation.
- Provide legal counsel on:
- Statutory/regulatory obligations under Medicaid, Medicare, the 340B program, and the Veterans Health Care Act
- Market access and reimbursement
- Government pricing and price reporting compliance (including reasonable assumptions)
- CMS final rules and correspondence (letters, public comments)
- Federal/state legislation affecting market access, pricing, reimbursement, and state drug price reporting/transparency laws
- Services and contracting for specialty distributors and specialty pharmacies
- Data and special projects
- Brand strategic planning and business operation plans
- Stay current on evolving healthcare legislation/regulations and enforcement landscape
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and company policies, including the Anti-kickback Statute and other US healthcare compliance laws.
- Coordinate with legal colleagues (commercial, pipeline, privacy) and review select Communication Review Committee materials.
Qualifications / Skills
- JD from an ABA-accredited law school; member of a state bar.
- 8+ years post-JD experience advising on life sciences legal matters (law firm and/or in-house).
- Government price reporting experience.
- Experience advising on Medicaid, 340B, VA, federal/state anti-kickback statutes, state drug pricing transparency laws, OIG guidance/advisory opinions, the False Claims Act, and the PhRMA Code.
- Strong communication (verbal/written), analytical/problem-solving/organizational skills.
- Advanced contracting and redlining skills; strong attention to detail.
- Ability to manage outside counsel and adhere to budget.
- Specialty medicines legal experience highly desired.

Pay Range
- $214,400 - $321,600

- Remote-Eligible: Remote (primarily remote), Hybrid (remote up to two days/week), or On-Site (five days/week with flexibility).
