Job Summary
Provide expert legal advice and counseling to business partners on strategic and tactical projects in a highly regulated environment. Report to the Assistant General Counsel, supporting departments including Market Access, Government Affairs & Public Policy, and pipeline.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise business partners on commercial initiatives, managing legal risks and protecting company integrity/reputation.
- Provide legal counsel on Medicaid/Medicare, 340B, Veterans Health Care Act; market access and reimbursement.
- Advise on government pricing, price reporting compliance, and reasonable assumptions documents.
- Support CMS final rules and related correspondence (letters/public comments).
- Analyze federal/state legislation affecting market access, pricing, reimbursement, and state drug price transparency/reporting.
- Counsel on services/contracting for specialty distributors and specialty pharmacies.
- Handle data/special projects, brand strategic planning, and business operation plans.
- Stay current on healthcare legislation, regulations, and enforcement landscape; ensure compliance (e.g., Anti-kickback Statute and other US healthcare compliance).
- Collaborate with colleagues (commercial, pipeline, privacy); review select materials in the Communication Review Committee.
Qualifications / Skills (Required unless noted)
- JD (ABA-accredited) and member of a state bar.
- 8+ years post-JD life sciences legal experience (law firm and/or in-house).
- Government price reporting experience.
- Experience with statutes/regulations/guidance for market access (Medicaid, 340B, Veterans Administration), anti-kickback, drug price transparency laws, OIG guidance/opinions, False Claims Act, PhRMA Code.
- Strong verbal/written communication; advanced contracting/redlining; analytical/problem-solving; ability to manage outside counsel and budget.
- Preferred: experience advising on specialty medicines.
Pay / Work Setup
- Pay range: $214,400–$321,600. Eligible for annual bonus and annual equity awards.
- Remote-eligible (flexible remote/hybrid/on-site options).
