Job Summary
Provide expert legal advice and counseling to the business on strategic and tactical projects in a highly regulated environment. Report to the Assistant General Counsel and support commercial functions including Market Access (payer strategy, trade & distribution, government pricing), Government Affairs & Public Policy, and pipeline.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise business partners on commercial initiatives to advance company strategy while managing legal risk and protecting integrity/reputation.
- Provide legal counsel on Medicaid, Medicare, 340B program, Veterans Health Care Act; market access and reimbursement; government pricing (price reporting compliance, reasonable assumptions); CMS/Medicaid final rules and related correspondence (letters, public comments); federal and state legislation impacting pricing/access and state drug price reporting/transparency.
- Advise on specialty distributor and specialty pharmacy services/contracting; data and special projects; brand strategic planning and business operation plans.
- Stay current on healthcare laws/regulations and enforcement; ensure compliance, including Anti-kickback Statute and other healthcare compliance laws.
- Collaborate with colleagues across commercial, pipeline, and privacy; review select materials in the Communication Review Committee.
Contribute to Legal & Compliance
- Participate in legal/compliance initiatives and committees; share knowledge via group presentations and discussions.
Qualifications / Skills
- JD from an ABA-accredited law school; member of a state bar.
- 8+ years post-JD in life sciences legal matters (law firm or in-house).
- Government price reporting experience.
- Experience with market access statutes/regulations/guidance (Medicaid, 340B, Veterans Administration; federal/state anti-kickback; transparency laws; OIG guidance/advisory opinions; False Claims Act; PhRMA Code).
- Strong written/verbal communication; advanced contracting/redlining; analytical/problem-solving/organizational skills; manage outside counsel and budgets. Specialty medicines experience desired.
Pay Range
- $214,400β$321,600.
Remote-Eligible (Flex)
- Remote (5 days remote; occasional office) or Hybrid (up to 2 remote days) or On-Site (5 days onsite with ad hoc flexibility).
