Job Summary:
Provide expert advice and legal counseling to business partners on strategic and tactical projects in a highly regulated environment. Report to the Assistant General Counsel; support departments including Market Access (Payer Strategy, Trade & Distribution, Government Pricing), Government Affairs & Public Policy, and pipeline.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advise on Commercial initiatives, addressing legal risks and protecting integrity/reputation.
- Provide legal counsel on Medicaid, Medicare, 340B program, Veterans Health Care Act.
- Advise on market access and reimbursement.
- Advise on government pricing and price reporting compliance (including reasonable assumptions documents).
- Advise on CMS final rules and correspondence (letters and public comments).
- Advise on federal and state legislation impacting market access/pricing/reimbursement and state drug price reporting/transparency laws.
- Advise on services and contracting related to specialty distributors and specialty pharmacies.
- Support data and special projects; brand strategic planning and business operation plans.
- Stay current on healthcare laws/regulations and enforcement landscape.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and company policies, including Anti-kickback Statute/US healthcare compliance.
- Collaborate with other legal colleagues (commercial, pipeline, privacy).
- Review select materials for the Communication Review Committee.
Qualifications:
- JD from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Member of a state bar.
- 8+ years post-JD life sciences legal experience (law firm or in-house).
- Government price reporting experience.
- Experience with Medicaid/340B/Veterans Admin, anti-kickback statutes, state drug pricing transparency laws, OIG guidance/advisory opinions, False Claims Act, PhRMA Code.
- Strong communication; advanced contracting/redlining; analytical/problem-solving/organizational skills.
- Experience managing outside counsel and budgets.
- Specialty medicines experience highly desired.
Pay/Benefits/Work Location (as stated):
- Pay range: $214,400β$321,600.
- Eligible for annual bonus and annual equity awards; may be eligible for overtime.
- Remote-eligible (Remote: 5 days remote with occasional office; Hybrid: up to 2 days remote; On-site: 5 days onsite with ad hoc flexibility).
