Job Summary
- Provide expert legal advice and counseling to the business on strategic and tactical projects in a highly regulated environment. Report to the Assistant General Counsel and support business partners across Market Access (Payer Strategy, Trade & Distribution, Government Pricing), Government Affairs & Public Policy, and pipeline.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise business partners on commercial initiatives while addressing legal risks and protecting company integrity and reputation.
- Provide legal counsel on: Medicaid, Medicare, 340B program, Veterans Health Care Act; market access and reimbursement; government pricing and price reporting compliance; CMS/Medicaid final rules and guidance correspondence; federal and state legislation affecting market access/pricing/reimbursement and state drug price reporting/transparency laws; contracting/services for specialty distributors and specialty pharmacies; data and special projects; brand strategic planning and business operation plans.
- Stay current on healthcare legislation/regulations and enforcement landscape; ensure compliance (including Anti-kickback Statute and other healthcare compliance laws).
- Collaborate with colleagues (commercial, pipeline, privacy); review select materials in the Communication Review Committee.
- Participate in Legal & Compliance initiatives/committees; share knowledge via presentations and discussions.
Qualifications & Skills
- JD (ABA-accredited) and state bar membership.
- 8+ years post-JD life sciences legal experience (law firm and/or in-house).
- Government price reporting experience; experience with market access statutes/regulations/guidance (incl. Medicaid/340B/VA, anti-kickback, state transparency, OIG guidance/advisory opinions, False Claims Act, PhRMA Code).
- Strong communication; advanced contracting/redlining; analytical/problem-solving/organizational skills; manage outside counsel and budgets.
- Specialty medicines legal experience preferred.
Pay & Work Location
- $214,400β$321,600; eligible for annual bonus and annual equity.
- Remote-eligible: Remote (typ. 5 days remote), Hybrid (up to 2 days remote), or On-Site (5 days on-site with ad hoc flexibility).
