Role Summary

Legal Head of Global Commercial. This position reports to the VP, Category, Science and Commercial and serves as the deputy on Commercial Legal Matters. The role leads the Legal team supporting one Commercial cluster (region) and provides legal oversight and strategic guidance for the cluster, while building the Commercial Legal team and implementing best practices. Based in Grand Rapids, MI or remote locations may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Lead legal support for one of the Commercial clusters (regions), advising on the commercial path to market and activation of global category strategies at market or regional level, including pricing and commercial practices and strategies, local marketing strategies, contract manufacturing, anti-trust, eCommerce, and collaboration with Category Legal, IP and Global Contracting lawyers; provide other strategic legal support and training to commercial teams.
  • Lead other lawyers and legal professionals supporting the Commercial clusters (regions) within Perrigo.
  • Set up the Commercial Legal team for success by implementing best practice ways of working.

Qualifications

  • Required: JD from an accredited law school, Bar admission, and a minimum of 12+ years of professional legal experience in-house or in a law firm.
  • Required: Comprehensive knowledge of legal, regulatory and commercial processes with strong strategic thinking.
  • Required: Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and provide pragmatic, proportionate advice • exceptional leadership and communication skills.
  • Required: Ability to manage and develop teams and multiple projects; strong executive stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Required: Strong business acumen and ability to translate legal advice into actionable business strategies.
  • Preferred: Experience advising sales and commercial teams on path to market, including with commercial contracts, anti-trust, promotional practices and global category strategies at regional or market level; experience managing others.
