Role Summary
The Site project portfolio Leader will support, mentor and manage the Swiftwater portfolio management team within the Swiftwater Strategy and Portfolio function. The role is responsible for meeting site CAPEX/OPEX and reporting metrics, and ensuring the project portfolio and resources align with site objectives and quality metrics. The position involves heavy matrixed governance, cross-functional collaboration, and leadership of initiatives to improve project management practices within Swiftwater VIA.
Responsibilities
- Manage, coach, mentor, and address issues of the portfolio management team; lead cross-functional end-to-end planning and execution of site CAPEX/OPEX to facilitate schedules, budgets, communications, and project risks; support delivery of objectives on time, budget, and quality.
- Build and manage site project portfolio that meets the annual budget and forecast; identify critical paths and milestones to ensure timely delivery.
- Build and manage resource plans aligned with project timelines; coordinate with cross-functional team members to anticipate, plan/budget, and allocate resources.
- Coordinate M&S product flows between multiple sites and CMOs; collaborate with M&S Finance at local, other sites, and corporate.
- Challenge assumptions on budgets, schedules, and resources with function/work stream leaders; collect and maintain information in SHINE as needed.
- Coordinate cross-functional project teams on budgets and schedules; ensure up-to-date status, planning, forecasting, analysis, and reporting to enable decision making.
- Consolidate and reforecast budgets, schedules, resources, and risks with project team members; provide consolidated financial and timeline information to stakeholders.
- Define project KPIs and report progress to project teams, PM management, steering committees, site leadership, and global leadership; perform financial analyses and explain variances as needed.
- Coordinate scope changes with governance committees, focusing on financial and regulatory impact; ensure follow-up and communication of changes.
- Identify and implement opportunities for improvement (e.g., timeline acceleration while balancing cost and quality) and share lessons learned across the project management function.
- Organize and manage project steering committee meetings and other stakeholder meetings; support PMF in applying project management standards and best practices.
- Lead initiatives to improve project management practices across Swiftwater VIA, including training, SHINE administration, and forecasting/scheduling ways-of-working.
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, or Science; minimum 10 years of experience in a similar manufacturing environment (pharmaceutical, food, or fine chemicals).
- Required: Experience with project management processes, schedules, resource estimation, and budget estimation (CAPEX and OPEX); ability to develop business cases and consolidate financial information; proficiency in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint.
- Preferred: Project Management Professional (PMP) certification; SAP experience; Planisware (SHINE) expertise.
