Main Purpose
- Provide technical expertise for the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the site LDAR (Leak Detection and Repair) program to minimize emissions and ensure environmental compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the site LDAR program (procedures, tools, and management systems).
- Ensure compliance with EPA, IDEM, and cGMP requirements, including NSPS (40 CFR Part 60) and NESHAP (40 CFR Part 63) subparts applicable to pharmaceutical/chemical manufacturing.
- Conduct Method 21 monitoring, OGI (Optical Gas Imaging) inspections, and regular compliance audits.
- Maintain accurate LDAR records (monitoring data, repair logs, and compliance reports).
- Coordinate LDAR activities across production, operations, maintenance, engineering, and external vendors.
- Act as secondary regulatory point of contact for EPA/IDEM on LDAR-related matters.
- Train, mentor, and onboard operations and maintenance personnel; lead LDAR training programs.
- Support commissioning, qualification, and LDAR procedure writing.
- Drive emissions reduction via process optimization, equipment upgrades, and best practices.
- Support cross-functional projects and incident investigations; ensure adherence to safety procedures, policies, and permits.
Basic Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (technical certification or associate degree in environmental technology/instrumentation or related field preferred).
- Minimum 5 yearsβ experience in pharmaceutical, chemical, refinery, petrochemical, or related industrial manufacturing with focus on LDAR and environmental compliance.
- Demonstrated knowledge of LDAR regulatory requirements (IDEM and/or EPA) and best practices.
- Experience developing and/or managing LDAR programs.
- Full-time US work authorization required; no visa sponsorship provided.
Additional Preferences
- Environmental monitoring tools/software experience.
- Project management experience.

- Leadership and communication skills; strong problem-solving/troubleshooting.
Additional Information
- Tasks may require entering manufacturing areas and wearing PPE; may require nights/weekends/holidays; minimal travel.
