Role Summary

Lead, Customer Master Data & Analytics within the Finance Shared Services (FSS) organization. Responsible for governance, data quality, and operational excellence for Customer Master Data across SAP S/4HANA and integrated systems. Provides people leadership and partners cross-functionally to deliver accurate, compliant, and timely customer data to enable OTC execution, regulatory compliance, and data-driven decision-making, while driving continuous improvement, analytics, and process innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Customer Master Data vision, roadmap, and governance framework across SAP S/4HANA and integrated systems.
  • Serve as the senior point of contact for Customer Master Data across Customer Service, Supply Chain, Pricing, Finance/AR, Commercial, and IT.
  • Define and enforce global customer data standards, stewardship practices, and data quality controls to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across Customer Master Data processes, balancing global standardization with operational agility.
  • Oversee Customer MDM/DSP (Syniti – Data Stewardship Platform) operating models, including intake, validation, approvals, stewardship, escalation, and audit readiness.
  • Lead and manage DSP workflows to ensure timely processing, SLA adherence, and high data quality.
  • Support end-to-end project delivery, including design, test, and rollout of SAP enhancements, integrations, and data remediation initiatives.
  • Lead medium-to-large scale initiatives using Smartsheet project management methodology.
  • Maintain and update Customer Master Data SOPs and country variants following process or system enhancements.
  • Deliver executive-level reporting and analytics on data quality, KPIs, and process performance.
  • Drive AI-enabled automation initiatives such as duplicate detection, intelligent validation, and workflow optimization.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, audit, privacy, and SOX requirements related to customer data.
  • Lead and manage a team of 3–5 analysts supporting customer onboarding for U.S. sales organizations.
  • Directly manage, coach, and develop team members through performance management, capability building, and career development.

Qualifications

  • Required: Minimum 5+ years of progressive experience in Master Data Management, Data Governance, or Data & Analytics within complex enterprise environments.
  • Required: Solid understanding of end-to-end Order-to-Cash (OTC) processes, with the ability to partner effectively across Finance, Customer Service, Supply Chain, Pricing, Commercial, and IT.
  • Required: Demonstrated ability to influence, drive change, and operate independently within a matrixed, global organization.
  • Required: Proven experience leading process improvement and data quality initiatives with a strong focus on governance, compliance, and operational excellence.
  • Required: Strong project management capabilities, including experience managing medium-to-large initiatives using Smartsheet or similar tools.
  • Required: Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate broad direction into clear, actionable insights.
  • Required: High proficiency in Excel.
  • Required: Hands-on experience with SQL Server, Power BI, Oracle, and data modeling concepts.
  • Required: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage senior leaders and diverse stakeholders.
  • Required: Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results under tight timelines.
  • Required: Demonstrated people leadership capabilities, including coaching, performance management, and team development, aligned with AbbVie leadership behaviors.
  • Preferred: Experience working within a formal MDM framework and data stewardship platforms (e.g., DSP/Syniti).
  • Preferred: Prior exposure to internal audit, SOX, or regulatory compliance related to master data.
  • Preferred: Experience supporting or leading SAP S/4HANA data initiatives or large-scale system transformations.
  • Preferred: Demonstrated interest in innovation, automation, and analytics-driven process optimization.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or Finance.
