Responsibilities:
- Lead architecture, design, development, testing, deployment, and support of robotics applications and automation solutions.
- Define technical standards, best practices, and governance for robotics application lifecycle management.
- Partner cross-functionally to identify high-value automation opportunities and translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Evaluate/select robotics platforms, tools, and integration patterns aligned with enterprise strategy.
- Serve as technical lead for complex robotics initiatives (solution design, system integration, validation, troubleshooting).
- Mentor engineers/developers; ensure performance, reliability, security, compliance, and maintainability.
- Collaborate with vendors/implementation partners; assess capabilities and resolve technical issues.
- Support planning, estimation, risk management, and milestone tracking.
- Stay current with robotics, automation, AI/ML, and intelligent systems; present recommendations/updates to stakeholders.

Qualifications:
Required:
- BS in engineering/CS/Robotics/Automation/IS (or related) OR MS with 8 years OR PhD with 5 years.
- 10+ years progressive experience in robotics/automation/software/controls.
- Experience leading design and delivery of robotics/automation in complex enterprise environments.
- Experience with end-to-end robotics application lifecycle (development through support).
- Leadership experience; cross-functional stakeholder experience.
- Strong expertise in robotics systems/automation/app development; scalable, secure, reliable automation.
- Programming/scripting: Python, C#, Java, PLC languages, or similar.
- Knowledge of robotics frameworks, machine vision, sensors, motion/control systems, and integration.
- Integration experience with APIs, databases, messaging, industrial protocols, or enterprise apps.
- Strong analytical/problem-solving; project leadership; communication/influence.
- Validation/documentation/compliance familiarity in regulated environments (if applicable).

Preferred:
- Large-scale/multi-site/regulated implementations; vendor management and lifecycle governance.
- Collaborative robots/AMRs/industrial robotics; AI/ML-enabled automation/computer vision/IPA.
- Agile/Scrum/hybrid; life sciences/manufacturing/logistics/lab automation; relevant certifications.
