Responsibilities:
- Support start-up activities to bring manufacturing equipment into service; become an expert in assigned area and educate the team.
- Provide on-the-floor, tactical leadership for production of API molecules with safety-first, quality-always approach.
- Enforce safety, quality, and environmental compliance; escalate adverse events.
- Operate processes/equipment per batch records, SOPs, work instructions, and design parameters to meet production schedules.
- Lead daily monitoring, testing, and cleaning per regulatory requirements.
- Promote site safety culture; lead by example and accountability.
- Troubleshoot and respond to process upsets; integrate operator input and escalate as appropriate.
- Follow procedures for safety event reporting/documentation, including spill response and Emergency Response.
- Ensure shift passover communications and participate in daily huddles to set operational goals.
- Ensure personnel follow cGMP practices, safe work habits, hygiene, plant dress code, and area housekeeping.
- Participate in safety audits, procedure coordination, housekeeping, and continuous improvement.
- Use required company-supplied PPE.
Basic Requirements:
- HS Diploma/GED.
- 3+ years directly applicable manufacturing experience; GMP and/or chemical processing strongly preferred.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. full-time; Lilly does not sponsor visas.
Additional Skills/Preferences:
- Facility/area start-up experience.
- Pharmaceutical/chemical manufacturing experience with PSM-regulated or hazardous chemicals.
- FDA/cGMP knowledge; lean manufacturing; strong organization; troubleshooting/triage; technical nomenclature/math; communication; basic desktop computer skills.
Additional Information:
- Location: Indianapolis, IN (Lebanon, IN listed).
- 5% travel; 12-hour rotating shift; may work nights/weekends/holidays.
- Pay range: $25.96–$38.08; company bonus eligibility and benefits may apply.
