Key responsibilities for this role include:
- Assists in organizing the resources needed to meet the production schedule, quality, cost and safety objectives.
- Ensures the efficient operation of assigned production lines; starts/stops lines, corrects jams, and makes minor adjustments to packaging equipment.
- Monitors product for compliance with quality standards.
- Assists with maintaining inventory control of packaging materials, including auditing materials received and reconciling materials after production.
- Understands and operates the Statistical Process Control (SPC) system.
- Provides verification activities of critical packaging operations (weights, torques, AQL checks, and other specified quality checks).
- Performs in-process/finished product quality checks during packaging.
- Obtains samples for QC testing and Stability.
- Determines need to place material on QA hold; issues re-inspection, reprocess, and rework as directed by procedure.
- Ensures all safety rules and regulations are followed.
- Maintains the packaging area in compliance with good housekeeping standards.
- Maintains forms and logs; maintains First In-First Out (FIFO) as supplied from Materials Department.
- Can perform all duties of a Lead Operator Trainee, Line Operator I and II.
- Performs Material Handler duties when necessary.
- Assists in training temporaries and new employees.
Minimum qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- Minimum 10 to 12 years related experience.
