Role: Lead Medical Safety Physician responsible for overseeing global safety assessments, signal detection, and benefit–risk evaluations across Corcept's portfolio of treatments for hypercortisolism and oncology. Objectives include defining safety strategies, ensuring high-quality medical oversight of clinical and post-marketing safety activities, and integrating safety insights into development and regulatory processes.
Responsibilities: Provide strategic leadership for medical safety, lead and develop a team of Medical Safety Physicians, evaluate safety signals and conduct benefit–risk assessments, and oversee medical input into regulatory safety submissions. Collaborate with Clinical Development, Medical Affairs, Regulatory, and Safety Science teams to ensure safety governance and effective risk management.
Required Qualifications: MD with board certification preferred; 12+ years industry experience with significant leadership in Medical Safety or pharmacovigilance; oncology expertise essential. Extensive experience managing safety signal management, safety reviews, and regulatory interactions; strong understanding of global pharmacovigilance regulations.
Preferred Skills: Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and senior leadership, organizational leadership in fast-growing settings, strategic communication skills, and stakeholder management.
High-Value specifics: Focus on oncologic and endocrine indications, global safety oversight, risk management, pharmacovigilance regulations, and regulatory agency interactions. Position reports to VP of Patient Safety & Pharmacovigilance, based in the U.S., with full-time remote work options.
