Role Summary

Lead Engineering Technician - Global GMARS Maintenance & Reliability. This role focuses on standardized implementation and operational support of IBM Maximo – Enterprise Asset Management System, with responsibilities spanning technical consulting, user training, training material management, compliance assistance, and global coordination of the GMARS community of practice for Lilly manufacturing and laboratory sites.

Responsibilities

  • Technical and Discipline Support: focus on Planning/Scheduling/Performing Maintenance, Materials Management, Equipment Reliability, Calibration, and Metrology.
  • Provide global assistance to sites in Maintenance and Laboratory Asset Management, addressing problems, performing site assessments, and consultations.
  • Consultation: provide global assistance to sites in Maintenance and Laboratory Asset Management, including troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and resolution; assist with future planning.
  • Knowledge sharing: provide ongoing technical support to site plant engineering and maintenance groups; mentor Lilly engineering/maintenance at manufacturing and laboratory sites.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of Maximo user training and associated materials.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of GMARS user training and associated materials.
  • Collaborate: partner with technical staff and external partners to ensure proper maintenance and reliability practices; support continuous improvements and efficient use of Maximo; assist in testing and deployment of new software releases with Lilly IT.
  • Maximo Change Control: draft and revise changes; lead meetings for the Maximo Change Control Board.
  • Monitor effectiveness, gather user feedback, and recommend improvements to Maximo.

Qualifications

  • Minimum: High School Diploma/GED; 10 years of work experience in maintenance or engineering (plant and/or reliability).
  • Preferred: Power user in EAM/CMMS (Maximo preferred); experience in GMP/GLP spaces and maintenance business processes; CMRP is a plus; technical degree is a plus.

Skills

  • Strong verbal and written communications; excellent problem-solving skills; ability to influence others to achieve business results; advanced organizational and time-management skills; learning agility.
  • Proficiency with Outlook and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience with Service Now, TOAD, OSI PI, Tableau, SQL, Power BI; familiarity with Batiscript, Kneat, Digital Twin, and AI tools.

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required; additional technical degree is a plus.

Additional Requirements

  • Dayshift with core hours 9 am–3 pm; flexible schedules; extended hours for project deadlines.
  • Some international travel to European and Puerto Rican sites and domestic travel (10–20%).
