Role Summary
Lead Cloud DevOps Engineer in Tarrytown, NY responsible for designing and deploying reliable AWS infrastructure and highly scalable services from the ground up. Collaborate with Regeneron scientists to translate computational needs into cloud solutions, automate operations, and lead containerization and orchestration efforts. Provide leadership for cloud DevOps engineers and deliver end-user support and documentation. Local telecommuting is permitted up to 1 day per week.
Responsibilities
- Deploy reliable infrastructure services on AWS from the ground up to deliver highly scalable services.
- Interact with Regeneron scientists to understand computational needs and develop solutions to accelerate research.
- Provide support and perform systems administration tasks.
- Develop solutions to parallelize legacy/standalone jobs and run them on distributed computational platforms.
- Apply industry standards to ensure system and application security.
- Drive automation of operations and manage infrastructure as code.
- Deploy and lead monitoring, metrics, and logging capabilities on cloud engineering platforms.
- Lead efforts to containerize applications and tools and implement container orchestration.
- Develop SOPs and configure cloud services to stand up high compute pipelines.
- Install, configure, and maintain cloud applications and services.
- Keep abreast of the latest advances in cloud platforms and services.
- Provide leadership for cloud DevOps engineers.
- Interact with key partners to define and iterate on requirements.
- Provide end user support, training, and documentation.
Qualifications
- 3 years of Information Technology cloud engineering and DevOps experience.
- Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud Services.
- Containers and orchestration services such as Docker, ECS, ECR, and EKS.
- Fargate and systems administration of Linux servers; Ubuntu workstations, patching, backup, upgrades, and PAM authentication.
- CloudFormation scripts to automate the server deployment and configuration.
- EC2, EBS, S3, ELB, RDS, and monitoring tools.
- Web server administration such as Tomcat, Apache, and Nginx.
Education
- Masterβs degree (or foreign equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
