Lead Bioinformatician/Engineer (Pipelines and Infrastructure)

Role: Lead Bioinformatics Engineer responsible for pipeline and infrastructure development in a research team focused on cfDNA screening in Women's and Organ Health. Responsibilities include maintaining and transitioning WDL workflows to Nextflow on AWS, managing AWS infrastructure via Terraform, and improving pipeline reliability, cost-efficiency, and scientist usability. Additionally, develop internal tooling for operational efficiency, implement monitoring and alerting, and collaborate with scientists and production teams for method deployment and handoff. Qualifications: Degree in Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience; 4+ years in pipeline or software engineering within life sciences or sequencing contexts; proven system ownership and end-to-end system operation. Skills: Strong Python, experience with workflow systems (WDL, Nextflow), AWS (Batch, HealthOmics), infrastructure as code (Terraform), Linux, containers, version control, and code review. Preferred: familiarity with scientific workflows, AWS services, and biological understanding of cfDNA screening.
