Laboratory Supervisor - Microbiology

Role: Laboratory Supervisor responsible for managing daily operations of a clinical laboratory in San Diego, ensuring accurate testing, timely reporting, and compliance with regulatory standards. Objectives include supervising, training, and mentoring technical staff, overseeing workflow and staffing, maintaining quality assurance, and implementing process improvements. Responsibilities also encompass equipment maintenance, technical proficiency, and administrative duties such as payroll and document management. Qualifications: Associate’s degree in a Chemical or Biological Science or Medical Technology; 4+ years experience as a Technologist/Technician; CA State CLS license required. Preferred: Bachelor’s degree, ASCP or AMT certification, prior Labcorp experience, and strong knowledge of CLIA, CAP, and state regulations. Skills include laboratory operations understanding, proficiency with Laboratory Information Systems and Microsoft Office, and excellent communication. High-value biopharma specifics: clinical laboratory setting, regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and technical leadership. Work setup: 2nd shift (Monday-Friday, 2:00pm-11:30pm).
