Responsibilities:
- Maintain regular attendance and punctuality; complete mandatory trainings as required.
- Wash, sanitize, inspect, and store laboratory glassware per protocols; operate automated glasswasher equipment.
- Clean and maintain benches, hoods, and common work surfaces on a schedule.
- Monitor and empty chemical, biological, and general waste containers; segregate waste streams (e.g., chemical, sharps, non-hazardous) per regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate waste pickup with licensed disposal vendors; maintain waste manifests and disposal records in compliance with EHS regulations.
- Use appropriate PPE at all times; promptly report spills or safety concerns to your supervisor.
- Maintain organized storage of chemicals/reagents/consumables; track expiration dates and perform inventory counts.
- Place routine supply orders; track open orders, receive shipments, and verify contents against packing lists.
- Perform non-technical maintenance (stability chamber chart records; water baths/dehumidifiers; clean instrument exteriors).
- Coordinate preventive maintenance and calibration visits; maintain an equipment service log.
- Monitor instrument status and alert staff to out-of-range readings or alarms.
- Assist with labeling, autoclave runs, material staging, and other directed tasks.
- Support onboarding of new lab staff on systems and procedures.
- Complete required safety and compliance training; follow established guidelines/procedures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required; science coursework or Associate’s degree is a plus.
- Preferred: 1+ year of lab/manufacturing/industrial experience.
- Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, email, electronic ordering).
- Ability to read/follow SOPs, SDS, and written work instructions.
- Competencies: attention to detail, organization, reliability, teamwork, self-starter, adaptability, communication.
- Full-time, on-site (Chicago/Fulton); 5 days/week; may require occasional evenings/weekends; standing/walking and lifting/moving up to 30–40 lbs; routine exposure to lab chemicals/reagents/waste (PPE provided and required).
