Laboratory Manager (Experienced) Site Based, Branford, CT

Role Summary

Laboratory Manager (Experienced) – Site Based, Branford, CT. Lead a high-throughput compound management operation within Evotec's Sample Management department. Manage and develop technical and operations staff, coordinate inventory systems, and collaborate with Informatics, Information Technology, and automation to support client workflows. This role emphasizes problem solving, cross-functional collaboration, and driving process improvements in Evotec’s compound management operations.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that all functions of a complex, high-throughput compound management operation run safely, on schedule, and with the highest quality standards, delivering services to clients with diverse sample volumes and contract requirements.
• Supervise, coordinate, and train staff at the CM Lab Technician, Operator and Associate Scientist levels. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
• Maintain advanced knowledge of Cenevo (formerly Titian) Mosaic as it pertains to Evotec Compound Management Operations.
• Act as primary liaison between Evotec Informatics, Information Technology, and Cenevo to ensure inventory applications meet the needs of both clients and operational staff.
• Interact with customers on technical and operational issues as required.
• Interact with management at all levels.
• Build and maintain a schedule for complex, high throughput compound management operations.
• Advanced capability with Excel and other software suites.
• Collaborate with the Automation Engineering function to support Operations and the needs of client workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in a life science field with at least 6 years of experience working in a lab and 2 + years with direct reports (min 4 reports).
• Must be a highly motivated and technically skilled professional with compound management expertise and respect within the industry.
• Must have a demonstrated record of achievement with compound management operations.
• Experience managing and developing technical and operations staff.
• Experience with Cenevo Mosaic, including development testing, is a significant advantage.
• A natural collaborator with interpersonal skills to work effectively across functions, with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to create and analyze spreadsheets to evaluate data and make recommendations.
• Ability to handle multiple deadlines and associated pressures.
• Strong interpersonal and supervisory skills.
