Lab Supervisor - Core Lab

Role: Laboratory Supervisor overseeing daily operations of a high-volume clinical core lab at UT Knoxville Medical Center. Objectives: ensure accurate, timely testing results, maintain regulatory compliance, and lead laboratory staff development. Responsibilities: supervise testing activities, manage workflow, train and mentor personnel, oversee quality control and assurance, implement process improvements, and handle administrative tasks including staffing and payroll. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Medical Technology, or Clinical Laboratory Science; 5+ years of clinical lab experience; Tennessee supervisor's license. Preferred: 6+ months supervisory experience, ASCP or AMT certification. High-Value: clinical laboratory environment; emphasis on laboratory quality standards (CLIA, CAP, state regulations); supervisory license; technical proficiency; ability to work flexible hours including overtime; physical capability to perform bench work; familiarity with laboratory information systems.
