The Laboratory Operations Associate 1 supports daily activities across one or more laboratories by following established procedures and protocols. This role is focused on building knowledge of lab operations through hands-on experience. The Laboratory Associate provides operational support to all RED laboratories throughout the product lifecycle, from early non-clinical stages to all phases of clinical development. Individuals in this role understand and can apply GxP regulations to various processes and technologies as they are used and evaluated prior to use for regulated testing.
This role is responsible for providing operational support to all RED laboratories, including routine laboratory maintenance, equipment upkeep, preparation of buffers, cleaning of dishware and glassware, and facilitating shipping and receiving activities as necessary. The Associate 1 is expected to identify operational issues and promptly escalate them to senior staff for resolution.
Routine work will be conducted according to detailed protocols and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); the Associate should seek guidance when needed. Accurate documentation and communication of raw data, data analyses, and interpretations to laboratory stakeholders is essential. General responsibilities also include maintaining a safe, compliant, and inspection-ready laboratory environment.
This role requires effective teamwork, attention to detail, and a commitment to best practices in laboratory operations, safety, and compliance.

The salary range for this position is: $72,000 to $99,000. BioMarin considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package.
