Lab Design Project Engineer

Role: Laboratory Design Project Engineer providing technical leadership in planning, designing, and delivering laboratory facilities within Amgen's biopharma operations. Responsibilities: translate scientific and operational needs into functional lab designs, develop and review design standards, oversee design packages for safety and compliance, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams throughout project phases, evaluate equipment and utility integration, and support commissioning activities. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, or related field; extensive experience in laboratory design and operations; knowledge of building codes, biosafety, and GMP standards; strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills; willingness to travel. Preferred qualifications: advanced degrees or professional certifications (e.g., PE, LEED), experience with regulated biotech labs, and familiarity with biosafety containment, cleanrooms, and pharmaceutical utilities.
