Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Translate manual research and development processes into the design of automation systems.
- Troubleshoot standard system problems by analyzing information; document identified solutions.
- Support daily operations, commissioning, and validation activities in cross-functional teams.
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities and drive them from conception through implementation.
- Participate in automation design for continuous and batch processes.
- Provide technical guidance on automation system operation; advance current capabilities and design/implement new capabilities.
- Comply with all relevant safety and GMP procedures.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Hamilton and Biomek automation programming, method development, and general maintenance.
- Scheduling software for integrated automation work cells.
- Method development, optimization, and deployment of high-throughput cell-based and biochemical assays.
- Automated data capture software.
- Scripting experience (e.g., Python, R, C, C++) and basic familiarity with SQL.
- Git experience; CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment preferred.
- Experience working with large matrix technical teams under accelerated timelines across disease areas and therapeutic modalities.
- Written and verbal communication to exchange information and confirm understanding.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, computer sciences, or related field and 1 year of experience in life sciences, engineering, or academia.
