Lab Automation Engineer

Role: Lab Automation Engineer supporting automation design, implementation, and validation across various platforms (Hamilton, Biomek) to enhance research and development efficiency within Vertex Cell & Genetic Therapies. Responsibilities: translate manual research processes into automated systems, troubleshoot, support daily operations, commissioning, validation, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives; contribute to automation design for both continuous and batch processes; provide technical guidance and advance automation capabilities. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, computer sciences, or related field; 1+ years in life sciences, engineering, or academia; hands-on experience with Hamilton/Biomek automation, scripting languages (Python, R), data capture software, and scheduling tools. Preferred: familiarity with version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and working within large matrix teams.
