Role Summary
This is a full-time role (40 hours per week) with a daytime schedule. The position is responsible for maintaining the Bio-Techne animal facility, including comfortable handling of rodents. Additional duties may be assigned.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the welfare and immunization of all rodents used in R&D Systems.
- Perform general lab duties including filter sterilization, aliquoting, and labeling of samples.
- Stock and organize supplies and materials; prepare reagents.
- Follow company policies and safety guidelines as outlined in the Handbook and in the AWAIR, Chemical Hygiene and Exposure Control manuals.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED, or AA degree or equivalent; with 2β4 yearsβ experience if holding a high school diploma, or 0β2 years with an AA or BS degree.
- Attention to detail and organization.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Computer entry and/or typing skills desirable.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and have good communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
Skills
- Knowledge of laboratory equipment.
- Ability to work with animals (mouse, rat). Adhere to IACUUC rules for animal care.
- Skills pertaining to immunization of rodents.
- Knowledge of sterile technique.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and practices.
- Ability to plan, organize and multi-task to complete assignments efficiently.
- Ability to act independently on routine assignments or projects.
- Ability to communicate professionally, both oral and written; excellent record keeping skills.
- Ability to work independently and with a team.
Additional Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to work hours including weekends and holidays.
