About the Role:
The Hematology Key Account Manager (KAM) drives access, demand, and strategic growth across Takeda’s Hematology portfolio within assigned geography and key accounts. Serves as primary point of contact for complex hematology customers across multiple sites of care, building trusted partnerships with Hemophilia Treatment Centers (HTCs), IDNs, hospitals, academic institutions, and community practices.
How you will contribute:
- Achieve/exceed sales targets and MBO goals via disciplined territory/account strategies.
- Develop and execute territory and strategic account plans (stakeholder mapping, prioritization, tactical execution).
- Manage assigned key accounts as strategic intermediary between Takeda and institutional/nonacute customers.
- Drive formulary, protocol, and pathway access by engaging clinical, pharmacy, policy, operations, and financial stakeholders.
- Use advanced strategic selling in complex, multistakeholder environments.
- Maintain account knowledge (reimbursement, inventory, procurement, access barriers).
- Lead structured QBRs integrating clinical, access, financial, operational, and outcomes insights.
- Analyze/interpet data to guide strategy and optimize resource utilization across sites of care.
- Build disease state/product expertise in bleeding/clotting disorders and portfolio.
- Identify and cultivate KOL and influential stakeholder relationships.
- Coordinate cross-functionally (Medical, Patient & Market Access, Marketing, Community Education Specialists, other KAMs) within compliance guidelines.
- Share insights and learnings to matrix teams and leadership.
- Own U.S. Hematology portfolio performance and access in assigned geography.
- Operate autonomously; balance strategy with field execution; collaborate across regions/KAM peers.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS).
- 5+ years direct selling to healthcare professionals or equivalent specialty healthcare experience.
- Experience in account management/territory ownership/complex healthcare customer management.
- Strong understanding of hematology, hospital, and IDN landscape.
- Experience supporting/executing product launches in complex specialty/institutional settings.
- Experience developing/executing business and account plans aligned with corporate objectives.
- Working knowledge of payer access, reimbursement, and managed care dynamics (local/regional/state).
- Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills to influence stakeholders.
- Reside within or near assigned geography.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience generating acute demand in institutional settings.
- Buy-and-bill experience and specialty pharmacy collaboration.
- MBA/MS/PharmD or similar.
- Experience influencing C/D-suite and senior clinical leadership.
Licenses/Certifications:
- Valid Driver’s License.
Travel Requirements:
- Ability to drive/fly to accounts; occasional meetings.
- Some overnight travel up to 25–50% as needed.
Training Requirements:
- Successful completion of mandatory product training, including written and oral examinations, as a condition of employment.
