KC Engineering Co-op

Role: Chemical Engineering Co-op at Bayer's Crop Science division, focused on supporting process improvements and project development in chemical manufacturing. Responsibilities: collaborate with engineering teams to optimize processes, enhance yields, reduce waste, and improve cycle times; assist in designing project scopes based on stakeholder needs; ensure compliance with safety, environmental standards, and plant protocols; work with maintenance and reliability teams to understand plant operations; perform engineering calculations and feasibility studies; support process troubleshooting and continuous improvement initiatives. Requirements: currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's program in Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering; sophomore or higher with GPA ≥3.0; proficient in MS Office; able to work on-site in Kansas City, MO; physically capable of climbing stairs/ladders. Preferred: experience with chemical process operations, safety/regulatory standards, and operational excellence programs. High-Value: chemical process optimization, manufacturing improvement, project support in chemical plants, plant environment, co-op duration spring or fall, paid internship. Work setup: on-site in Kansas City, MO, during specified semesters.
