Responsibilities:
- Partner with R&D stakeholders to identify, scope, and deliver high-value AI use cases across scientific workflows, knowledge access, decision support, and drug discovery.
- Build AI-enabled applications, assistants, automations, and data products to improve productivity and accelerate research.
- Independently understand workflows, gather requirements, iterate quickly, and ensure solutions fit business needs.
- Contribute to drug discovery AI initiatives (model-driven understanding, prediction, prioritization).
- Evaluate, prototype, and apply frontier models, agent frameworks, and AI engineering tools to research problems.
- Support novel internal AI capabilities (domain-adapted models, specialized workflows, foundation-model efforts as appropriate).
- Connect AI systems to internal data/documents/research infrastructure; deploy, monitor, and improve in approved environments.
- Document patterns/decisions and help establish delivery/quality/guardrails standards.
- Stay current on agentic coding and frontier AI tools.
Required Qualifications:
- BS/MS/PhD in CS, ML, Engineering, Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, or related field.
- Strong CS fundamentals; strong Python; ability to build prototypes quickly.
- Experience with ML/AI applications, software engineering, or computational research.
- Hands-on with modern AI tools, LLM APIs, coding agents, AI-assisted dev environments; familiarity with Claude Code/Codex.
- Independent stakeholder collaboration; strong communication with scientific teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Interest in frontier AI/model development/applied ML (coursework, research, open-source, publications, internships, projects).
- Plus: scientific/life sciences/chemistry/biology/data-intensive technical problem experience; building internal tools/automations; curiosity about applying frontier AI to discovery and drug development.
