Role Summary

IT Portfolio Manager (Hybrid) responsible for developing, executing, and managing IT projects within defined scope. This role coordinates multiple interrelated IT activities under resource and budget constraints to ensure timely project delivery and alignment with business goals, governance, and policy requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Compliance with applicable corporate and divisional policies and procedures; quality management.
  • Initiate and Plan IT Projects: collaborate with business and IT management to define project goals, objectives, deliverables, and financials.
  • Project Control: assess how changes to scope, issues and risks affect projects; work with division and cross-divisional management and sponsors to gain resolution; monitor progress against plan and budget.
  • Executing and Closing Projects: develop and execute a work plan; secure authorized resources; gather lessons learned; obtain final project approval from sponsor and stakeholders.
  • Project Communication: provide timely project status reports and decision-support information to project teams, division, cross-division, and executive management; offer recommendations to resolve issues.
  • Resource and Team Management: coordinate resources; assign tasks based on team members’ abilities; supervise, motivate, and mentor cross-functional/cross-divisional project teams.
  • Quality Management: ensure compliance with corporate and functional policies and procedures.
  • Decisions: make decisions that impact project activities and influence or have final authority for project budget.
  • Financial Control: develop and manage a large multi-year budget; track spend and accruals; create monthly spend estimates and coordinate invoices with project vendors to maintain spend within +/- 10% of the overall project budget.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree with 8 years' experience OR Master's Degree with 7 years' experience OR PhD with 3 years' experience.
  • At least 8 years of proven experience driving projects through various phases of the SDLC, using Waterfall and Agile methodologies as appropriate.
  • At least 5 years of experience managing significant IT projects in a Pharma environment.
  • Must have managed project budgets in excess of $1M.
  • Must have demonstrable Executive Presence.
  • Proven Microsoft Office skills are required.
