      Role Summary
 IS Data Center Operations Engineer
 Responsibilities
 
 - Serve as the liaison between IT teams and facilities staff, ensuring flawless communication.
 
 - Interpret electrical one-line diagrams, distribution drawings, and cooling schematics to support incident response and planning.
 
 - Install, rack, cable, and support enterprise IT systems including Dell PowerEdge, Nutanix, NetApp, and Cisco technologies.
 
 - Support day-to-day moves, adds, and changes (MACs) in building IDF and VDER environments.
 
 - Perform fiber and copper patch cabling in data centers, IDFs, and VDER closets.
 
 - Trace and troubleshoot cabling issues to restore connectivity.
 
 - Monitor infrastructure, proactively detect issues, and bring up with urgency to appropriate teams.
 
 - Apply AI-enabled monitoring and automation platforms to enhance data center operations.
 
 - Maintain documentation of infrastructure layouts, procedures, and operational standards.
 
 - Participate in capacity planning, disaster recovery drills, and continuous improvement initiatives.
 
 - Provide clear and concise direction to internal and external consultants to increase productivity.
 
 - Review and coordinate facility-related maintenances (Mechanical and Electrical) with Facilities teams and notify stakeholders of upcoming activities with potential impacts.
 
 - Support on-site projects / tasks as needed.
 
 
 Qualifications
 
 - Basic Qualifications:
 
 - Master’s degree
 
 - OR Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of data center operations experience
 
 - Or Associate’s degree and 6 years of data center operations experience
 
 - Or High school diploma / GED and 8 years of data center operations experience
 
 
  
 - Preferred Qualifications:
 
 - Functional Skills
 
 - Must-Have Skills:
 
 - Hands-on experience with rack/stack, structured cabling, and IT hardware installation.
 
 - Familiarity with Dell PowerEdge, Nutanix, NetApp, and Cisco platforms.
 
 - Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical drawings (awareness-level competency).
 
 - Experience using monitoring, alerting, or automation systems (AI-enabled platforms preferred).
 
 - Solid understanding of IT operations concepts including hardware lifecycle management and disaster recovery.
 
 - Ability to read and update documentation, diagrams, and cable records.
 
 - Familiarity with data center, IDF, and telecom closet environments.
 
 - Experience with fiber and copper structured cabling systems.
 
 - Knowledge of cable management procedures and capacity planning.
 
 
  
 - Good-to-Have Skills:
 
 - Familiarity with DCIM (Data Center Infrastructure Management) platforms.
 
 - Exposure to cooling system operations (CRAC/CRAH, containment, chilled water).
 
 - Knowledge of scripting/automation tools (Python, Ansible, etc.).
 
 - Understanding of ITIL practices.
 
 - Understanding of basic network protocols and architecture.
 
 - Experience with manufacturing systems and solutions.
 
 
  
 - Professional Certifications:
 
 - Data center or structured cabling certifications (e.g., BICSI, CDCP, CDCS, ANSI/TIA) preferred.
 
 - Vendor certifications on Dell, Cisco, or Nutanix preferred!

 - Strong communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with IT and MEP stakeholders.
 
 - Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
 
 - Ability to adapt to changing priorities and environments.

 Additional Requirements
 
 - Shift Information: This position is onsite and may require working outside of standard business hours, including nights, weekends, and participation in an on-call rotation to support global business operations.
