Role Summary
Intern - Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) position focusing on Industrial Hygiene, waste management, and environmental monitoring. This 12-week program provides hands-on experience within the EHS department, with mentorship and participation in real projects.
Responsibilities
- Gain in-depth insight into the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) department during the 12-week program.
- Be directly involved in daily operations and assigned to diverse projects with mentorship from experienced colleagues.
- Develop and conduct interactive EHS trainings.
- Participate in incident investigations and assist in developing corrective and preventative action plans.
- Perform EHS risk assessments using job hazard assessments (JHAs) or process hazard assessments (PHAs).
- Conduct audits of EHS programs to ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory standards (Confined Space, Machine Guarding, Waste Disposal, Emergency Preparedness, Hazard Communication, etc.).
- Provide guidance to employees on the proper use and maintenance of safety-related equipment.
- Assist in maintaining chemical inventories and safety data sheet databases in laboratory, production, and warehouse areas.
- Work with the EHS team to promote a positive safety culture.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program; concentration in Environmental and Occupational Health Studies preferred.
- Fundamental understanding and experience with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree (pursuing); Environmental and Occupational Health Studies preferred.
