Role Summary

Intern - Automation & Robotics position in Davie, FL for a 12–14 week program focusing on prototyping, design, analysis, modeling, verification and validation of simple robotics systems within an international pharmaceutical setting.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in prototype development and testing, including creation of detailed design outputs and technical documentation
  • Assist in the design, development, and testing of mechanical components and prototypes
  • Participate in the research and development phases of electromechanical projects featuring sensors, actuators, control systems
  • Participate in the execution and documentation of test protocols
  • Assist in design and development of testing processes, focusing on metrics to harmonize equipment verification and performance
  • Effectively work with cross-functional teams including mechanical, software and electrical

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a BS, MS or Ph.D. in Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with graduation expected within 1 year of internship duration
  • Portfolio demonstrating relevant experience and projects (preferred projects linked to material handling and pharmaceutical or food manufacturing)
  • Strong understanding of mechanical or electrical design and electromechanical systems
  • Excellent problem solving skills; self-starter with teamwork and communication
  • Familiarity with mechanical CAD (Solidworks preferred)
  • Familiarity with electrical schematics capture and board layout
  • Familiarity with rapid prototyping and hands-on mechanical assembly
  • Familiarity with robotics and automation in warehouse and pharmaceutical industry
  • Familiarity with design controls and pharmaceutical regulations
