Role Summary

Intern - Analytical Development at Teva Pharmaceuticals. This 12-week, on-site internship in West Chester, PA offers hands-on experience in analytical development for protein biotherapeutics. You will work under a mentor and participate in lab-based projects applying electrophoretic and chromatographic techniques, with exposure to CE, HPLC, spectroscopy, and related tools. You will document work in notebooks and present findings to the team.

Responsibilities

  • During the 12-week program, you will gain in-depth insight into the Analytical Development department in Biologic CMC.
  • Supported by a mentor and experienced colleagues, you will be directly involved in our daily business and be assigned tasks within diverse projects.
  • This lab-based intern position will introduce both electrophoretic and chromatographic separations of novel protein biotherapeutics.
  • Project details may include exploration of new CE (capillary electrophoresis) instrumentation for charge variant analysis, evaluation of a novel affinity-CE method for use in bispecific antibody programs, and/or developing HPLC separations with unique detection systems for antibody interaction studies.
  • Utilize statistical approaches to develop high quality methods for upcoming pipeline projects.
  • The selected candidate will gain hands on experience with multiple analytical tools and techniques (CE, HPLC, Spectroscopy, and more), provide valuable insights to the team in support of upcoming programs, and explore what working in an analytical lab looks like in CMC biologics development at Teva.
  • Data will be recorded in laboratory notebooks and a final presentation of work will be delivered to peers and the department.
  • You will also play an important role in the development of concepts and initiatives within the BioCMC business unit.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program of Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field.
  • Fundamental understanding of general laboratory and analytical techniques, scientific writing, and bring desire to learn.
