Role Summary
Instrumentation Technician II supports maintenance and reliability activities for utilities systems, buildings, and production/non-production equipment in a GMP environment. You calibrate, repair, and troubleshoot instrumentation and controls, read schematics and engineering drawings, and contribute to continuous improvement as part of Pfizer's engineering team. This role is on-site with a first shift schedule (WedβSat, 6:00 AMβ4:30 PM).
Responsibilities
- Calibrate, repair, and troubleshoot instrumentation in disciplines including balances, pressure, flow, temperature, conductivity, and UV in a GMP environment.
- Lead or participate in continuous improvement activities.
- Read and follow equipment schematics, logic diagrams and engineering drawings.
- Complete maintenance activities within designated timeframes and document per Standard Operating Procedures.
- Follow Environmental, Health, and Safety requirements and protocols.
- Make recommendations regarding improved instrument performance.
- Read and interpret detailed blueprints and schematics.
- Manage time and professional development with assistance of Lead Tech or Supervisor.
- Know general shop safety practices, including handling and storage of calibration standards.
Qualifications
- Required: Calibration or Instrumentation & Controls experience, or equivalent.
- Required: Knowledge of basic mathematics.
- Required: Excellent computer user skills.
- Required: Functional or Technical Knowledge of basic discipline.
- Required: Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Required: Sound interpersonal, decision making and problem-solving skills.
- Required: Ability to work in cleanroom environment.
- Preferred: Military training (PMEL).
- Preferred: Previous Biopharma experience.
- Preferred: Previous experience working in a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
- Preferred: Experience with PLCs, temperature, and flow measurement devices.
- Preferred: Knowledge of FDA and Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) policies and procedures.
- Preferred: Good organizational and planning skills, analytical/problem-solving ability, and ability to learn quickly; demonstrated ingenuity and creativity.
- Preferred: Use electrical testing equipment including multi-meters and clamp-on current meters in a safe manner.
- Preferred: LOTO experience.
- Preferred: EQP experience.
Education
- High School Diploma or GED
Additional Requirements
- Physical demands: This position will involve field work and office work requiring sitting, standing and walking. The position may require climbing ladders and working at heights while being tied off; the ability to lift up to 50 pounds; and the ability to wear a clean room gown.
